3 Round Stones is pleased to announce the general availability of Callimachus Open Source version 1.3.3. A Callimachus Enterprise release is anticipated to follow shortly.
Callimachus version 1.3.3 is primarily a minor bug fix release that adds a few things the community has been asking for. A summary of the changes in this release is:
- Support for hosting generic XML files.
- Support for hosting generic JSON files.
- Warning when starting Callimachus without running the setup script first (Linux and Mac).
- Newly created file names are no longer forced to lower-case.
- Added support for skos:narrower relationship on the SKOS Concept create template.
- Improved error reporting for corner cases.

The most useful new feature for developers is the ability to host, serve, view and edit generic JSON and XML files within a Callimachus environment. Developers are reminded that it has already been possible to produce JSON and XML from Callimachus XProc pipelines for use client-side.
